Who are &
what we believe
Unadilla First strives to provide the tools, teaching, and atmosphere to help grow your relationship with God and cultivate your spiritual gifts as we all grow together as a faith family.

WHY DO WE EXist?
to worship
witness &
welcome
Worship:
Genuine worship is from the heart, in Spirit and in Truth. We’re grateful for the gift of grace and the reason to worship, remembering we were lost and now saved. We remember the cost of sin, the power of sin, and the freedom from sin — this is what drives our worship and reminds us of the fallen world around us.
Witness:
Our witness is our love for Jesus: being prepared and willing at all times to carefully, intentionally, and faithfully share the Gospel. Our understanding of the lost and salvation contributes to our witness, as we remember Jesus’ compassion and desire for all to be saved.
Welcome:
We welcome men and women of all walks of life, regardless of dress, appearance, and orientation — we are ready and willing to share the loving and life-changing truth of God’s Word. The Gospel is the Good News, and it is the power of God’s salvation (Romans 1:16; 2 Cor. 5:17), so that you can be a new creation in Christ too. We would love to welcome YOU into the family of God!
We are a growing, historic, traditional Baptist Church that proudly holds the beliefs of the Baptist Faith and Message (2000 edition). We believe in our risen Savior, Jesus Christ, we support the teachings of the Bible, and seek and support the movement and conviction of the Holy Spirit.
Our church mission drives all that we do, with a desire to:
Worship - God through all we do, whether it’s singing in the service, teaching a class, or serving a meal.
Witness - to everyone we come across by our words and actions, in all we do.
Welcome - all who will come to Jesus.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe in the doctrine of Christianity, the Baptist Faith and Message, and most importantly- the inerrant Word of God.
ABOUT GOD
We believe in the living, perfect, omnipresent, omnipotent, omniscient, unchangeable God. We believe in the biblical teaching of the triune Godhead. We believe that God does, and has, existed as the three persons of the Trinity in one: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Ghost.
ABOUT HUMANITY
We believe God originally created man in His own image, and free from sin; but, through the temptation of Satan, man broke the command of God and fell from his original holiness and righteousness into our now inherent sinful nature and are under condemnation. We also believe that it is utterly out of the power of man as a fallen creature to keep God's law perfectly or be made right and justified, except through the intervening act of Jesus' death, burial, and resurrection, that made a way for all to be saved through a confession of faith, repentance of sins, and belief in Him as their risen Savior.
ABOUT SALVATION
We believe it is impossible to be saved on our own, but salvation from sin, death, and hell is only possible through the redemptive work of Jesus on the cross and through the empty tomb. We also believe salvation comes from a profession of faith highlighted by:
A - Admitting sins
Admitting that you are a sinner and have done wrong and are not righteous.
B - Believing in the Gospel
Believe Jesus is the Holy, one and only Perfect Son of God, that He gave His life on the cross, paying the price for our sins, resurrected, and is now seated at the right hand of the Father, as the Bible teaches.
C - Confess Him as the Lord of your life
Living your life that was bought and redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus Christ, to honor and serve and live for God. Making Him the Lord of your life.
ABOUT BAPTISM
We believe in the practice of full submersion baptism. We believe that after you have made a profession of faith and have been saved, the next step of a believer should be baptism. We do not believe baptism saves, but that it is an outward expression of the inward change that has happened when you gave your life to Christ and got saved.
ABOUT THE BIBLE
We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God, that He breathed life and thought into the physical authors of the Bible and inspired their every word, leading to Him revealing Himself and His redemptive work played out in Jesus in the form of prophecy, as well as continuing to prophesy His second coming.
ABOUT THE END TIMES
We believe, as the Bible describes, one day with the blast of a trumpet, Jesus Himself will come in the blink of an eye, and all who have called on Him to be their Savior will be called up to be with Him. We believe, as the Bible teaches, that Jesus is now currently seated at the right hand of the Father, preparing a place for all those who believe in Him and have called on Him to be their Savior.

LIVING LIFE
TOGETHER
The church was never meant to work alone; at Unadilla First Baptist Church, we believe in encouragement and accountability, through the good times and bad. Being a member of the church and a dedicated member of a Sunday School class helps cultivate that unity and relationship in the church and her members.

BETTER
At Unadilla First, we believe everyone has a purpose, and all men and women have a role in the church, an obligation to use and cultivate your spiritual gifts, and help make the world a better place, whether that's teaching a class, singing in the choir, or going across the world to tell others about Jesus. We believe you have a purpose, and we want to support it.
